Measuring across domains including pain and symptoms, functional limitations, school impact, and disease-related worry, it captures how sickle cell disease and its complications affect daily life and well-being. Used alongside the PedsQL Generic Core Scales, it provides comprehensive assessment of sickle cell disease-specific and general health-related quality of life.	The PAQLQ is a 23-item self-report instrument developed by Juniper et al. in 1996 to measure quality of life in children aged 7–17 years with asthma. It assesses how asthma and its treatment affect daily functioning, emotions, and activity levels. The instrument has become the gold standard for evaluating asthma-specific health-related quality of life in pediatric populations.
