Kipimo cha MTT/MTS

Kipimo cha MTT, kilichoanzishwa na Tatsuro Mosmann mnamo 1983, ni njia ya kolorimetriki ya kupima uwezo wa seli kuishi na kuongezeka kwa kupima shughuli za kimetaboliki za mitochondria. Njia hii hugundua ubadilishaji wa chumvi ya tetrazoli inayoyeyuka kwenye maji MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) na mitochondria hai, ikitoa mchanga wa formazan wa zambarau usioyeyuka ambao unalingana na idadi ya seli hai. Kipimo kinachohusiana cha MTS, ambacho hakihitaji kuyeyushwa, kinatoa kasi bora na sasa kinatumika sana katika utafiti wa kitaaluma na ukuzaji wa dawa.
