Analiza difuzije usmerenih mreža proučava kako se informacije, bolesti, ponašanje ili uticaj šire kroz mrežu u kojoj ivice nose smer — što znači da se prenos odvija jednosmerno duž svake veze. Ona kombinuje grafičko-teorijske reprezentacije sa stohastičkim modelima širenja kao što su nezavisni kaskadni, linearni prag, ili SIR/SIS, i centralna je za istraživanja maksimizacije uticaja, prognoziranje epidemija i propagaciju informacija.
