Hoek-Brown kriterijum loma

Hoek-Brown kriterijum, koji su razvili Evert Hoek i E. T. Brown počevši od 1980. godine, je empirijski kriterijum loma koji predviđa smičnu čvrstoću stenskih masa u funkciji pritiska zatvaranja. On uzima u obzir kvalitet stene (preko Geološkog indeksa čvrstoće, GSI) i na taj način premošćuje laboratorijsku mehaniku stena i ponašanje na terenu. Kriterijum se široko koristi u rudarstvu za stabilnost kosina, projektovanje stubova i analizu napona.
