Optimizacijom potpomognuto QFD proširuje klasični okvir Kuće kvaliteta ugrađivanjem matematičke optimizacije — linearnog programiranja, višeciljne optimizacije ili metaheuristika — direktno u QFD proces. Ovo omogućava inženjerima da istovremeno maksimiziraju zadovoljstvo kupaca i minimiziraju troškove ili ograničenja resursa prilikom postavljanja ciljnih vrednosti za inženjerske karakteristike, prevazilazeći uglavnom subjektivna rangiranja prioriteta tradicionalnog QFD-a.
