Modeli Lokal i Vonesës Hapësinore shtrin modelin klasik të vonesës hapësinore duke lejuar që si parametri i autokorrelacionit hapësinor ashtu edhe koeficientët e regresionit të ndryshojnë sipas vendndodhjeve gjeografike. Në vend të një vlerësimi global të mënyrës se si rezultatet fqinje ndikojnë në çdo vëzhgim, modeli përshtat parametra specifikë vendndodhjeje duke përdorur vlerësim lokal të peshuar me bërthamë, duke zbuluar heterogjenitetin hapësinor në varësinë hapësinore.
