Analiza de sentiment bazată pe lexicon calculează sentimentul la nivel de cuvânt utilizând dicționare de sentiment preconstruite, precum AFINN (Nielsen, 2011), SentiWordNet, VADER (Hutto & Gilbert, 2014) și NRC Emotion Lexicon. Aceasta atribuie scoruri textului prin căutarea cuvintelor într-un dicționar de termeni încărcați emoțional, deci nu necesită date de antrenament etichetate.
