RezumatThe Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test (JHFT) is a standardized, performance-based measure of hand function developed to provide an objective, quantitative assessment of manual dexterity and hand capability. Created by Jebsen and colleagues (1969) at the University of Minnesota, the JHFT consists of seven timed functional hand tasks reflecting everyday hand activities. The JHFT is widely used in hand therapy, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation medicine to evaluate hand function in individuals with arthritis, hand injury, nerve compression syndromes, stroke, and other conditions affecting dexterity. The Motor Assessment Scale (MAS) is a clinician-rated, performance-based measure of motor function specifically developed for stroke survivors. Created by Carr, Shepherd, and colleagues (1985) at the University of Sydney, the MAS evaluates 8 fundamental motor tasks reflecting functional mobility and motor control relevant to post-stroke recovery. The MAS has become a standard outcome measure in stroke rehabilitation research and clinical practice, widely used to assess and track motor recovery following acute and chronic stroke.
