RezumatBayesian Kernel Density Estimation (BKDE) is a nonparametric method for estimating the probability density function of a spatial or attribute variable by combining a kernel smoother with a Bayesian prior over the bandwidth parameter. The posterior distribution of the bandwidth propagates uncertainty into the final density estimate rather than treating the bandwidth as a fixed tuning constant.Hot Spot Analysis uses the Getis-Ord Gi* local spatial statistic to identify geographic locations where high or low attribute values cluster together to a degree that is statistically significant. Each feature is evaluated in relation to its neighbours, producing a z-score that flags genuine spatial hot spots and cold spots against a background of random variation.
