ResumoThe MRS is an 11-item self-report symptom scale designed to assess the frequency and severity of menopausal symptoms including vasomotor complaints, psychologic symptoms, and urogenital manifestations. Developed by Heinemann and colleagues in Germany and first published in 2000, it has become the most widely used symptom measure in menopause research and clinical practice across 60+ countries and languages. The Sexual Satisfaction Scale (also known as the Kansas City Sexual Satisfaction Scale) is a brief, unidimensional self-report measure designed to assess subjective satisfaction with sexual life and sexual relationships. First published by Ponticas in 2003, it comprises typically 5–7 items measuring global sexual satisfaction on simple Likert or semantic differential scales. Its brevity and conceptual clarity make it useful for rapid assessment in clinical and research settings.
