ResumoDiffusion Tensor Imaging Tractography (DTI tractography) is a non-invasive neuroimaging technique that maps white matter fiber bundles in the brain by tracking the three-dimensional diffusion of water molecules along axons. Pioneered by Basser, Mori, and Conturo in the 1990s, DTI tractography reveals the structural connectivity of the brain, enabling visualization of major pathways (corpus callosum, arcuate fasciculus, corticospinal tract) and assessment of fiber integrity. It is widely used in neurosurgical planning, neurological disease assessment, and brain connectivity research.Functional Ultrasound (fUS) is a high-framerate Doppler ultrasound technique that dynamically maps blood flow and hemodynamic changes in vivo with millisecond temporal resolution. Pioneered by Tanter, Macé, and colleagues in the 2010s, fUS enables real-time imaging of microvascular perfusion in the brain and other organs. By combining ultrafast acquisition (1000-5000 frames per second) with Doppler processing, fUS reveals functional activity (hemodynamic changes during stimulation or behavior) and vascular networks with unprecedented spatiotemporal detail.
