Bond Work Index

Bond Work Index, introdusert av Fred C. Bond i 1952, er en empirisk parameter som karakteriserer motstanden til en malm mot maling i en roterende kvern. Den defineres som kilowattimer per kort tonn (kWh/st) elektrisk energi som kreves for å redusere en grov malm fra teoretisk uendelig størrelse til 80 % passerende 100 mikrometer. Bond-indeksen er grunnleggende for design av mineralprosessanlegg og kostnadsestimering over hele verden.
