SammendragThe Soldier Adaptation Measure is a brief self-report instrument assessing psychological readiness and adaptation to military deployment. Developed by Bliese and colleagues in the context of military mental health surveillance, it measures dimensions of military motivation, unit cohesion, perceived leadership, and psychological well-being during deployment. It is used in pre-deployment, mid-deployment, and post-deployment screening to identify service members struggling with psychological adjustment and to inform unit support and individual intervention. The PCL-M is a 17-item self-report inventory measuring PTSD symptom severity in military personnel. Developed by Weathers and colleagues in 1993, it directly corresponds to DSM-IV diagnostic criteria. It is widely used in military, veteran, and trauma-exposed populations for screening and monitoring treatment response.
