Multischaal ruimtelijke autocorrelatie breidt klassieke ruimtelijke autocorrelatieanalyse uit door autocorrelatiestatistieken (zoals Moran's I) over een reeks ruimtelijke schalen tegelijkertijd te berekenen en te vergelijken. Dit onthult bij welke geografische afstanden of resoluties ruimtelijke clustering of dispersie het sterkst is, wat een rijker beeld geeft dan een enkele globale maat.
