Straussiaanse Grounded Theory is een systematische kwalitatieve methodologie ontwikkeld door Anselm Strauss en Juliet Corbin die theorie inductief uit data genereert via gestructureerde codeerprocedures. In tegenstelling tot exploratieve beschrijving, beoogt het een substantieve theorie van gemiddelde reikwijdte te produceren die verklaart hoe een sociaal proces zich ontvouwt, waarbij elke theoretische claim direct wordt gegrond in empirisch bewijs verzameld van deelnemers die het bestudeerde fenomeen hebben ervaren.
