Postkoloniale analyse is een kwalitatieve onderzoeksbenadering die de blijvende culturele, politieke, epistemische en sociale effecten van kolonialisme en imperialisme kritisch onderzoekt. Voortbouwend op fundamentele werken van Edward Said, Gayatri Spivak en Homi Bhabha, bevraagt het hoe koloniale machtsverhoudingen worden gereproduceerd in teksten, instellingen, identiteiten en kennissystemen – en hoe gekoloniseerde of gemarginaliseerde stemmen kunnen worden hersteld, versterkt en gecentreerd.
