Multigroep betrouwbaarheidsanalyse schat de interne consistentie of stabiliteitscoëfficiënten afzonderlijk binnen elke groep en vergelijkt ze vervolgens formeel om te bepalen of een schaal met gelijke precisie functioneert over populaties. Het is een fundamentele stap in cross-group meetonderzoek, doorgaans uitgevoerd naast of voorafgaand aan het testen van meetinvariantie.
