Multimodale Named Entity Recognition (MNER) breidt klassieke NER uit door tekstuele sequenties te fuseren met complementaire modaliteiten — meest voorkomend zijn beelden — om de identificatie en classificatie van benoemde entiteiten zoals personen, organisaties en locaties te verbeteren in situaties waar visuele context dubbelzinnige of schaarse tekst ontwart.
