Penyebaran Fungsi Kualiti Berasaskan Risiko (Risk-based QFD) mengintegrasikan analisis risiko formal — paling lazimnya Analisis Mod Kegagalan dan Kesannya (FMEA) atau matriks risiko — ke dalam rangka kerja Rumah Kualiti QFD klasik. Dengan memberatkan keperluan pelanggan dan ciri-ciri kejuruteraan terhadap risiko kegagalan yang berkaitan, pasukan mengutamakan keputusan reka bentuk dan proses bukan sahaja berdasarkan kepentingan pelanggan tetapi juga berdasarkan potensi bahaya, pendedahan peraturan, atau impak kebolehpercayaan. Ia digunakan secara meluas dalam pembangunan produk automotif, aeroangkasa, peranti perubatan, dan industri.
