KopsavilkumsThe Bayesian random effects model combines panel-data random effects with a Bayesian prior framework, allowing unit-specific effects to be treated as draws from a population distribution whose hyperparameters are estimated from the data. This produces regularised, uncertainty-quantified estimates that borrow strength across units — particularly valuable for short panels, sparse groups, or settings where frequentist variance-component estimation is unstable.Ordinary Least Squares is the classical linear regression method that explains a continuous outcome as a linear combination of predictors. It estimates the coefficients by minimising the sum of squared residuals, and under the Gauss-Markov assumptions these estimates are the best linear unbiased estimator (BLUE).
