ネットワーク機能仮想化 (NFV)
ネットワーク機能仮想化 (NFV) は、従来のネットワーク機能（ファイアウォール、ロードバランサー、ゲートウェイ、パケット検査など）を、専用ハードウェアアプライアンスではなく、汎用サーバー上で実行されるソフトウェアとして実装するパラダイムです。ETSI (2012) によって導入されたNFVは、クラウドインフラストラクチャを活用し、ネットワークサービスの迅速な展開を可能にすることで、設備投資と運用コストを削減します。SDNと組み合わせることで、NFVはオンデマンドのサービス作成とネットワークスライシングを可能にします。現在、5Gおよびクラウドネイティブネットワークアーキテクチャの中心となっています。
