度数分析は、データセット内の各異なる値またはカテゴリがどのくらいの頻度で出現するかを集計する基本的な記述統計手法です。これは、絶対度数、相対度数（パーセンテージ）、および累積度数を生成し、観測値がカテゴリ間でどのように分布しているかを即座に把握できます。推測統計的検定を適用する前に、カテゴリ変数または離散変数を探索する際の自然な第一歩となります。
