SintesiSelf-supervised GAN augments a standard Generative Adversarial Network with one or more self-supervised auxiliary tasks — such as predicting image rotation or patch position — that stabilise adversarial training and yield a discriminator that learns rich, transferable representations from unlabeled data without requiring manual annotations. The Vision Transformer (ViT), introduced by Dosovitskiy and colleagues in 2021, splits an image into fixed-size patches, treats those patches as a sequence, and applies the Transformer self-attention mechanism to image classification. Given enough training data, it surpasses convolutional neural networks (CNNs).
