Metode Dendrokronologi
Dendrokronologi adalah ilmu penanggalan dan analisis cincin tahunan pohon untuk merekonstruksi kondisi iklim masa lalu, kronologi, dan pola pertumbuhan pohon. Dipelopori oleh Andrew Ellicott Douglass pada awal abad kedua puluh dan diformalkan oleh Fritts dan rekan-rekannya, dendrokronologi memungkinkan penanggalan sampel kayu bersejarah secara presisi dan menghasilkan catatan iklim sepanjang ribuan tahun, menjadi sangat diperlukan untuk paleoklimatologi, arkeologi, dan ekologi hutan.
