ÖsszefoglalóMagnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) is a non-invasive imaging technique that measures tissue stiffness by encoding the motion of acoustic shear waves into MRI signal and calculating the elastic modulus from wave propagation patterns. Developed by Muthupillai and colleagues in 1995, MRE enables quantitative assessment of tissue mechanics, particularly useful for diagnosing liver fibrosis, cardiac dysfunction, and neurological diseases. It has emerged as a non-invasive alternative to biopsy for staging hepatic fibrosis and is expanding into other organ systems.Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) is a post-processing technique that converts MRI phase data into quantitative susceptibility values, enabling direct visualization and measurement of tissue magnetic properties. Developed by Wang, Liu, and colleagues, QSM transforms phase shifts caused by differences in magnetic susceptibility between tissues into tissue-specific biomarkers. It has revolutionized the sensitivity of MRI to iron, calcium, and other paramagnetic and diamagnetic substances, making it valuable in neurodegenerative disease diagnosis and tissue characterization.
