תרשימי בקרה לתכונות מרחיבים את המסגרת של שווהארט לנתוני ספירה ופרופורציה — מאפייני איכות המסווגים ולא נמדדים. תרשימי p ו-np מנטרים את הפרופורציה או מספר הפריטים הפגומים תוך שימוש בהתפלגות הבינומית, בעוד תרשימי c ו-u מנטרים את מספר הפגמים ליחידה תוך שימוש בהתפלגות פואסון. אלו הם כלי בקרת תהליכים סטטיסטיים סטנדרטיים כאשר הבדיקה מניבה תוצאות של מעבר/כישלון או ספירות פגמים ולא מדידות רציפות.
