ניתוח יכולת כביסה
ניתוח יכולת כביסה (Washability analysis) הוא שיטת מעבדה הקובעת את ההיתכנות והיעילות של הפרדה מבוססת-צפיפות לשיפור פחם או מינרלים. על ידי חלוקת עפרה או פחם למקטעים לפי צפיפות באמצעות בדיקות ציפה-שקיעה (sink-float tests) וניתוח כימי של כל מקטע, מהנדסים יכולים לייעל את תכנון מתקני ההפרדה (ציקלונים בצפיפות בינונית, ג'יגים, ספירלות) ולחזות את איכות התוצר הנקי. עקומות יכולת כביסה הן כלים חיוניים למחקרי היתכנות מקדימה ותכנון מפורט.
