כיסוי חופת עצים (Canopy Cover)
כיסוי חופת עצים, או סגירת חופה (canopy closure), הוא שיעור שטח הקרקע המכוסה על ידי צמרות העצים במבט מלמעלה, המוצג בדרך כלל באחוזים. כיסוי חופת עצים, שהוגדר פורמלית על ידי ג'נינגס ועמיתיו בעבודתם החלוצית על מבנה יערות טרופיים, נאמד בשיטות מרובות – מהערכה חזותית בשדה ועד חישה מרחוק מתקדמת ו-LiDAR קרקעי – ומספק נתונים חיוניים על מבנה היער, זמינות אור ומאפייני בית גידול הרלוונטיים לאקולוגיה, ייעור ומחקר אקלים.
