ניתוח ערכי אינדיקטור
ניתוח ערך אינדיקטור (IndVal), שפותח על ידי דופרן ולגנדר (1997), מזהה מינים המעידים באופן אמין על נוכחות של תנאים סביבתיים מסוימים, סוגי בתי גידול או קבוצות קהילתיות. השיטה מכמתת את הקשר בין מינים לבתי גידול, ומפיקה ערך אינדיקטור המשלב ספציפיות (העדפה בלעדית לבתי גידול מסוימים) ונאמנות (נוכחות עקבית כאשר בית הגידול מופיע). IndVal נמצא בשימוש נרחב בשימור לזיהוי מינים בעלי חשיבות ניהולית, בסיווג בתי גידול לגילוי מיני אינדיקטור, ובאקולוגיה של שיקום להערכה האם קהילות משוקמות תואמות תנאי ייחוס.
