מבחן הפלצבו הבייסיאני הוא אסטרטגיית הפרכה (falsification) להסקה סיבתית, המיישמת הסקה בייסיאנית על תרחישי פלצבו — בין אם טיפולים מדומים בתקופת טרום-התערבות, על יחידות שאינן מושפעות, או בנקודות חיתוך פיקטיביות — כדי לוודא שהשפעות הטיפול הנצפות אינן נובעות באופן סביר במקרה או ממודל שגוי. הוא משלב מידע קודם ומפיק התפלגויות פוסטריוריות של השפעות פלצבו להשוואה הסתברותית ישירה.
