RésuméThe Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is a foundational framework introduced by Fred Davis in 1989 to explain user adoption of information technology. Published in MIS Quarterly, TAM posits that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are the primary determinants of technology acceptance, regardless of an individual's prior computer experience or technical background. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) was developed by Venkatesh, Morris, Davis, and Davis in 2003 and published in MIS Quarterly. UTAUT integrates insights from eight prior technology acceptance theories into a unified framework, identifying four core constructs—Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions—that together predict behavioral intention to use and actual technology adoption.
