RésuméExplainable Semantic Segmentation (XSS) couples pixel-wise scene parsing — assigning a class label to every pixel in an image — with post-hoc or intrinsic explanation methods such as Grad-CAM, attention maps, or SHAP, so that the network's class decisions can be audited, visualized, and justified to domain experts in medical imaging, autonomous driving, and remote sensing.Semantic segmentation assigns a class label to every pixel in an image, producing a dense, category-annotated map of the scene. Unlike object detection, which draws bounding boxes, it delineates the exact spatial extent of each class, making it indispensable in medical imaging, autonomous driving, satellite analysis, and any task where precise region boundaries matter.
