خلاصهThe Stop-Signal Reaction Time (SSRT) task is a behavioral measure of response inhibition and executive control. Participants make rapid responses to go signals but must cancel responses when an occasional stop signal appears. By analyzing how successfully they inhibit responses and estimating the latency of inhibition (Stop-Signal Reaction Time), researchers measure the speed and efficiency of the neural inhibitory processes that enable self-control, impulse control, and behavioral flexibility. The Drift Diffusion Model (DDM) is a mathematical framework for understanding rapid binary decision-making by modeling the accumulation of evidence over time as a random walk with drift. Developed by Roger Ratcliff in the 1970s, it predicts both choice probabilities and response time distributions, providing insight into the cognitive processes underlying decisions in perceptual discrimination, recognition memory, and choice tasks.
