Bayesian Power Analysis (Assurance)

Bayesian power analysis – mida nimetatakse ka *assurance* – on valimi suuruse määramise meetod, mis asendab sageduslikkuse (frequentist) mõiste võimsus (power) tõenäosuskaalutud keskmisega efekti suuruse eelse jaotuse (prior distribution) üle. Meetodi formaliseerisid esmakordselt Spiegelhalter ja Freedman (1986) ning seda arendasid edasi O'Hagan, Stevens ja Campbell (2005). See vastab küsimusele: milline valimi suurus annab meile, arvestades meie praegust ebakindlust tõelise efekti suuruse osas, suure üldise tõenäosuse statistiliselt olulise tulemuse saamiseks?
