Eneseteadlik instantségmenteerimine õpib tuvastama ja piiritlema üksikuid objektijuhtumeid piltidel ilma inimese poolt märgistatud maskide või piirkarpideta. Selle asemel, et tugineda kulukatele pikslitaseme siltidele, kasutab see eneseteadlikku eelkoolitust, mitme vaate järjepidevust ja pseudomärgiste genereerimist, et avastada ja segmenteerida objekte puhtalt toorest pildiandmest.
