ResumenMachine learning-assisted ChIP-seq peak calling extends classical statistical peak detection with supervised or unsupervised learning models that distinguish genuine protein-binding sites from background noise. By training on sequence composition, read coverage profiles, and epigenomic features, these methods improve sensitivity and specificity compared with threshold-based approaches, particularly in low-signal or heterogeneous chromatin contexts.Variant calling is the computational process of identifying positions in a sequenced genome that differ from a reference sequence — including single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), small insertions and deletions (indels), and structural variants. It transforms aligned sequencing reads into an interpretable catalogue of genetic differences, forming the foundation for population genetics, disease-gene discovery, and clinical genomics applications.
