Sexual Harassment Experiences Questionnaire/Evidence

Sexual Harassment Experiences Questionnaire

The Sexual Harassment Experiences Questionnaire measures employee exposure to unwanted sexual behavior, comments, and coercion in the workplace. Developed by Fitzgerald, Gelfand, and Drasgow, the SHEQ distinguishes between gender harassment, unwanted sexual attention, and sexual coercion—recognizing that sexual harassment spans a continuum from crude jokes to assault. The scale is foundational for occupational health surveillance, legal compliance documentation, and evaluation of organizational prevention efforts.
