Introduced by Karen K. Yuen in 1974, it is a robust alternative to the classical t-test when the data are non-normal or contain outliers and the population variances are unequal. | The permutation test is a nonparametric resampling procedure that builds the sampling distribution of a test statistic directly from the data by repeatedly shuffling the group labels.
