Statisk kodeanalyse

Statisk kodeanalyse undersøger automatisk kildekode uden at eksekvere den og opdager potentielle fejl, sikkerhedsbrister, "code smells" og stilbrud. Engler og Pugh (2001) var pionerer inden for dette felt, og automatiserede analyseværktøjer scanner kodebaser i stor skala og identificerer defektmønstre hurtigere end manuel gennemgang. Organisationer integrerer statisk analyse i kontinuerlige integrations-pipelines for at forhindre fejl tidligt.
