Deterministiske cellulære automater (DCA) er en simuleringsmetode, der modellerer udviklingen af komplekse systemer gennem et regulært gitter af celler, der hver indeholder en diskret tilstand, som opdateres synkront i hvert tidsskridt i henhold til en fast, deterministisk regel anvendt på cellen og dens naboer. Resultatet er fuldt reproducerbart givet de samme initiale betingelser og regelsæt.
