Analyse af rettede vidensgrafer repræsenterer faktuel viden som en rettet, mærket multigraf af entiteter (knudepunkter) og typiserede relationer (rettede kanter), hvilket muliggør struktureret ræsonnement, inferens og opdagelse på tværs af store heterogene datasæt. Retningen af kanter koder for asymmetriske relationer som 'forfattet-af', 'forårsager' eller 'er-en', hvilket gør grafen semantisk rigere end urettede alternativer.
