Modal Analyse

Modal analyse er en beregningsmæssig og eksperimentel metode til at bestemme de naturlige frekvenser og tilhørende modale former for en mekanisk struktur. Ved at nedbryde strukturel vibration i dens fundamentale modi (naturlige oscillationsmønstre) kan ingeniører forudsige resonansfrekvenser, vurdere dynamisk respons på eksterne kræfter og designe strukturer for at undgå problematiske vibrationer. Modal analyse, der er udviklet stringent af Clough og Penzien i deres grundlæggende arbejde om strukturel dynamik, er essentiel for design af robuste mekaniske systemer.
