Komparativ typologisk analyse

Komparativ typologisk analyse er en systematisk metode til at klassificere fænomener i typer og derefter undersøge, hvordan disse typer adskiller sig, overlapper eller deler strukturelle træk på tværs af flere tilfælde, kontekster eller kulturer. Metoden, der anvendes bredt inden for lingvistik, arkæologi, jura og samfundsvidenskab, går ud over typologi af enkelttilfælde ved at sætte typesystemer i dialog med hinanden for at identificere tværgående mønstre, universalier eller kulturspecifikke konfigurationer.
