Differential kryptanalyse

Differential kryptanalyse er en statistisk angrebsteknik mod symmetriske blokchifre, der analyserer forskelle i input og output for at genskabe hemmelige nøgler. Introduceret af Eli Biham og Adi Shamir i 1990, var differential kryptanalyse det første praktiske angreb på DES, der overgik brute force-søgning. Teknikken udnytter ikke-tilfældige egenskaber ved chiffertransformationer ved at studere, hvordan små ændringer i klartekst forplanter sig gennem chifferrunderne. Differential kryptanalyse har formet chifferdesign i tre årtier.
