Adsorptionsisoterm (Langmuir-Freundlich)

Adsorptionsisotermer beskriver ligevægtsoptaget af et stof på en fast overflade som funktion af koncentrationen i gas- eller opløsningsfasen ved konstant temperatur. Langmuir-isotermen (1918) og Freundlich-isotermen (1906) er klassiske empiriske modeller. Langmuir-modellen antager monomolekylært dække og er mekanistisk; Freundlich-modellen er empirisk og beskriver multimolekylært eller heterogent adsorption. Disse isotermer er essentielle for design af separationsprocesser (aktivt kulfiltre, molekylsigter) og forståelse af pollutant-sorption.
