Taleforståelighed

Taleforståelighed er et kvantitativt mål for, hvor godt lyttere forstår talt indhold i akustiske miljøer. Formaliseret af Steeneken og Houtgast i 1980 med Speech Transmission Index (STI), kombinerer forståelighedsmetrikker rumakustiske parametre (RT60, støj, klarhed) for at forudsige lytterens forståelse. Forståelse af taleforståelighed er essentiel for design af klasseværelser, kontorer, høreapparater og højttaleranlæg, hvor klar kommunikation er kritisk.
