ResumQualitative-dominant pragmatic mixed methods is a research design in which a qualitative strand carries the primary weight of the inquiry, while a smaller quantitative component adds breadth or corroboration. Grounded in pragmatism as its philosophical framework, the design treats questions of data type, sequence, and integration as practical choices driven by the research problem rather than by methodological ideology.Transformative mixed methods design embeds a social-justice or advocacy theoretical framework — such as feminism, critical race theory, disability studies, or indigenous worldviews — as the overarching lens that guides every decision about data collection, integration, and use. Both quantitative and qualitative strands serve the goal of advancing equity, challenging power structures, and producing actionable knowledge for marginalized communities.
