| Resum≠ | The JAFAR is a parent-report instrument developed by Lovell et al. in 1989 to assess functional ability in children and adolescents with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Measuring across multiple domains including lower extremity function, upper extremity function, and activities of daily living, the JAFAR quantifies the extent to which arthritis and its treatment affect the child's mobility, self-care, and participation in age-appropriate activities. It remains a standard functional outcome measure in pediatric rheumatology research and clinical practice. | The PedsQL Diabetes Module is a 28-item disease-specific instrument developed by Varni et al. in 2003 to measure quality of life in children and adolescents with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It captures the impact of diabetes management, glucose monitoring, and disease-related worry on daily functioning. The module is paired with the PedsQL Generic Core Scales, enabling both disease-specific and general health-related quality of life assessment. |
