| Resum≠ | A crossover control group experimental design is an experimental approach in which participants are randomly assigned to sequences of conditions that include both a treatment and a control (no-treatment or placebo) period, with each participant experiencing both the experimental and control conditions in succession. By using each participant as their own control across periods, this design sharply reduces between-subject variability and typically requires fewer participants than parallel group trials to achieve equivalent statistical power. | Repeated-measures ANOVA is a parametric hypothesis test that compares three or more measurements taken from the same individuals — typically across time points or conditions — to decide whether their means differ. It extends one-way ANOVA to within-subjects designs, as treated in standard references such as Girden (1992) and Field (2013). |
