অ-প্যারামেট্রিক পরিসংখ্যানিক পরীক্ষা (Nonparametric Statistical Tests)
অ-প্যারামেট্রিক (ডিস্ট্রিবিউশন-ফ্রি) পরীক্ষা হলো হাইপোথিসিস টেস্টিংয়ের জন্য পরিসংখ্যানিক পদ্ধতি যা ডেটা কোনো নির্দিষ্ট সম্ভাব্যতা বিন্যাস (যেমন, নরমাল) অনুসরণ করে এমন অনুমান করে না। এটি ডেটার নরমালিটি থেকে বিচ্যুতি, আউটলায়ার এবং অর্ডিনাল ডেটার ক্ষেত্রে শক্তিশালী (robust) করে তোলে। ম্যান-হুইটনি ইউ টেস্ট (১৯৪৭) এবং ক্রুসকাল-ওয়ালিস টেস্ট (১৯৫২) প্যারামেট্রিক অনুমানের সীমাবদ্ধতার বাইরে হাইপোথিসিস টেস্টিংকে প্রসারিত করে। জীববিজ্ঞান, চিকিৎসা, মনোবিজ্ঞান এবং যে কোনও ক্ষেত্রে যেখানে ডেটা নন-নরমাল, অত্যন্ত স্কিউড বা অর্ডিনাল স্কেলে (র্যাঙ্কিং, রেটিং) পরিমাপ করা হয়, সেখানে অ-প্যারামেট্রিক পরীক্ষাগুলি প্যারামেট্রিক অনুমান ব্যর্থ হলে বৈধ অনুমান প্রদান করে।
